Small update

Not much to say other than I have to admit that I need help.
90% of the code for my game is complete. Most of what is left is model work , sounds and some GUIs.

I am a very good programmer but my skills in other areas leave a lot to be desired.
Web design for instance. I have little time or talent to update the site. While I have a huge collection of pics and videos of my game I have little spare time to work on the site.

As of today I am a one man team. My not willing to just give away the code I have worked on for over 2 years is the main reason. Mainly the spherical terrain and modified gravity/vehicle/player physics.

Let me make 3 things clear.
1. I don't plan to release the code for my game.
If you think this is wrong ask bungie for the source to Halo 3, see if they even respond to you.
Enough with the e-mails for my code.
I may release a resource on a simplified version of the spherical terrain later when I have time.

2. I have no funding for my project and I am not asking for any, when you get funding you loose control over your own project.

3. I am under no pressure for a release date and this project remains a labor of love.

I have started an alternate blog using MS's spaces( yes I know.... get it out of your system).
It is just simple enough for me to post on a regular basis. And being able to post large hi-res videos is a plus.
I will still be posting important stuff here.

Wow, that is pretty neat! I like the way the player could just jump out of the spacecraft onto the spherical moon.

I've always thought it would be cool to revisit the "Artillery" / "Scorched Earth" genre of games, using a spherical planet instead of a flat playing field. Your technology would be perfect for that.

Bill,
maybe you should sell a spherical terrain gravity add on/resource for torque, that way people would leave you alone, you would get something back for all your hard work and it may help out with funding art and such for your game.

you are a good programmer and you have shown that with what you have got here, its up to you now to turn this great programmers prototype into a great game.

Keep up the good work....and keep us posted.

I admit I'm a bit puzzled by this post. You say you need help, but most of the post is just screaming 'stay off my back!'.

I am impressed by your programming work, but if you really want help, some description of the type of help you want, and the benefits of helping you might do wonders.

@ Anthony- No kidding, I made an offer to develop the vehicles and spacecraft for Bill's game based soley on the merits of his prototype. I got a big fat no reply for my trouble.

Oh well.

You do need some help on your art thats for sure. And makeing planets and such isnt rocket science.

@ David Janssens - Wow. I need to proofread my posts more. The very first line was in my first draft of my post. I intended to take it out.
My original post went along the lines of wanting to attract some web talent for my site and as I was typing it I got some bad news from the 2 people helping me with some models and sound work who basically wanted all my source code for there services. As you can tell it didn't end well.

@ Anthony Rosenbaum. A little hot maybe. They were 2 guys I have know for years. Not in the "on the internet" kind of know , I went to school with them. When they saw I was wanting more help they freaked out. We will get over it I think but it is clear to me we can not continue working on this project together.

@ N R Bharathae - Sorry for not responding to you but I was simply unprepared for the number of request from people wanting to help.

Yeah really... you ask for help... but then scream I'm not giving the source away. Likening your source to Halo3 is kinda funny too... if you want help from others you might need to "loosen up" a bit eh? How is someone going to help you if you code is not made available and you don't want to team up? Good Luck with your project.. it looks neat and you are almost at completion.
