Free, as in F.R.E.E :)

Because of my comments onto N.R. and Gareth works - which were much more encouragements than anything else -, I thought I should give a hand to the TGE (A) community.

Many of you are living in a country that lacks a bit true middle-aged architecture and references. Even my own house is older than your country! No offense intended, just a matter of fact. :)

So, I decided to jump out until days are sunny enough and grabbed our digital camera.
I'm glad to propose today the first part of the work I'm expecting to achieve at a later stage.

Old stones (and a few other things) seamless textures (512 and 256 pixels format) - a few samples:

The complete collection and page is HERE

EULA: free to use in any project commercial or not, including your own sold creations (buildings, objects, etc.), as long as you are mentionning my name in the credits and not claiming ownership of the textures.

That was funny, but true. ;) We just don't have any such references locally.

In fact the sentence isn't from me, but from a friend of mine. So was his reaction when I explained him my house was built around a spiraled stairway in a 12/13th century tower. =)

Thanks for the comments.
The good news is that I still have pictures to work on and provide later.

Dont wanna highjack your thread, but you guys should also take a look at Genetica. It's a bit expensive, but they have some royalty-free textures.

Thanks Stephen I have grabbed these. I would suggest putting in an EULA in your zip. I have created one myself to remind me when I release a game with your textures to put you in the credits, but others may forget because between the time we grab your textures and the time a game is released - well it may be forgotten. If your EULA is there in the first place, it is never forgotten.

@James: I think this is quite different. They are offering computer generated textures.
Pictures you are viewing here are from stones that are at least 600 years old. ;)

@Andy: yes, I figured that too. Thanks.
