Update on the game project

The main thing I have been working on this past summer is a game for a contemporary artist Paul Noble. The game is called Laius' Folly and the basic premise of the game is dig up blocks of sand with a 'spade' but things get in your way - don't they always.
The game was to be finsihed by now; it is not. But I feel certain that I could say we have a decent alpha version of the game now. The decison has been rightly made to get the game 'right' and allow more time.
The project now enters the tuning phase to sort out some of main game play elements and tweak how the game gets more difficult as the levels progress. There are some bugs that are doing my head in a bit but I am sure they will get resolved.
We had an custom arcade cabinet made by a company called Complete Fabrication in London. And also we had a joystick rig made for testing. The controls are wired to a Mini-Pac controller which is in turn connected to Mac Mini via USB.
Ultimately, using Torque game builder was the right choice for this project. It has saved me from a lot of hassle in writing my own libraries which I could do given the time and money(!). Using TGB allowed me to focus on the game itself and not worry about the under the hood stuff so much.
Here are some images:

The music for the game is being done by Adam Bruneau of the Super Madrigal Brothers. The majority of the artwork has been done by Chris Petts.
And recently I have had some additional coding help from Matt Hutson.
