Korrinport Update (Picture heavy)

Well, I continue to slog away at it, chipping away at my "art content list". Which for an RPG is bloody massive. But anyway, enough with the talk, lets get to the pictures hey?

First off, some shots of the individual props and buildings I've done :

And Orc and his wagon :)

A lantern :

Books, bookcases and assorted studious stuff :

2 variations of your basic medieval dwelling :

The inside of a tavern (outside is pretty similar to the houses above), complete with Orc bartender :

Upstairs in the tavern :

A bridge (to nowhere, it's like a metaphor or something!) :

A wierd sorta-egyptian-sorta-greek styled temple/shrine :

Another shrine :

A big medieval dwelling, maybe an Inn :

An eastern styled house (for a different game region) :

Anyway, seeing them individually is cool, but lets see what they look like all together, with some nice mood lighting :). You can also see the DIF road pieces I've been creating and a signpost prop in the one shot. One thing to note here, after slaving away at this little lot for a couple of weeks, then staring glumly at my still massive list of art needs, I went and bought Arteria membership to try take some of the burden off me. So some of the buildings here aren't mine. And you can see lamp poles and barrels from Todd Pickens ever useful FPS pack :

(And yes I know there are some issues with the scenes, I've been trying the Rapid Prototyping philosophy with the art layout. Ie, I'll get a basic city set down then refine it in the next pass. Otherwise you spend forever tweaking something which you just end up later changing.)

Gareth: looks phenomenal! I really like the texturing on the buildings/floors and walls. They look nice and bumpy :)

Good work, it is really quite daunting the amount of artwork that goes into an RPG.

Thanks all.

@ Matt : Yeah, very! Right now I'm concentrating on simply getting up some of the core areas. I've had to face the fact that I can't hold anything about my game "sacred", and if necessary I will prune areas or ideas to get it done. Its a sad thing, to take a knife to those glorious images you have in your mind of your game, but necessary :( . And I will burn cash if it means saving me art development time. I'm eyeing those MoM creature packs hungrily.

At the very least all this work (including the 2 years programming!) will pay off in the next game, and the game after that, when I can reuse a lot of what I've done.

Like everyone else says Gareth, cool stuff, regarding the membership, sounds wise to me! ;)

Wow, all of the art looks fantastic!

In case you haven't already, I just wanted to give a plug for the Low Poly Coop models that are available to use free of charge. While most of the content is modern, there is a considerable portion of medieval stuff that I think might fit your genre.

Cheers!
