Now that that is over with, I can update you our progress.

Well, this past month has been full of making content and ironing out some of the levels. I have modeled weapons, equipment, and armor. I have about two of many levels 85% done. We are still working on the dialog. We have yet to implement it yet, however, we have conceptualized the in-game HUD and are in the middle of working added swimming code and ripping apart the hovervehicle code to where we have boats.

I haven't been updating the site, I apologize to our die-hard fans that are watching every moment they can to see if a new blog will appear on the site. I have just been at the same time learning php, and designing another site called MonsterPacks.com. It is a new site by us selling game content geared towards indies like us. There is only like one product on the site currently but I have plenty more to put up soon.

Alrighty, thats all for now! Btw here is a bigger link to MonsterPacks.com

Wow! I'm very impressed by the high texture detail. How is the terrain texture done? Very cool. Good work.

Also what's happening with Dwarf Quest? Are you guys not finishing it now? It's just that your Monster Pack site looks like you're selling off all the assets to it.

I just put some of the models from dwarf quest on their because I needed a product to test with, plus it is only a few things. I have content up the ASSets, hehe. But seriously in the next few days there will be more things to choose from.

Regarding Dwarf Quest it is still going and it is going to dominate the world. But what I didn't mention that I had a hard drive crash. But no worries, I managed to recover 110% of my drive.

Nice screenshot! I'll echo Andy's question - the texturing is superb on that terrain, but I don't have the foggiest idea how you did that. Could you elaborate a bit on your process there, please? :)

For the website - don't forget to put up screenshots of all models in a pack; hard to tell if you want to buy one with only the one screenshot.

Just use a small terrain square size, nice high resolution textures, a detail texture, clever detail and emboss settings and Torque's built in procedural texturing tools. The terrain never looks as good up close as it does from a distance though.

I agree with what Tim said. Torque terrain looks good from a distance only.

.. and this looks good :)

To answer for Kyle on the terrain questions, Tim is mostly right, except we didn't change the terrain size (although we have in some levels of both Dwarf Quest & CN:MI). Up close it's not too bad, as long as you choose a detail texture that compliments the overall level (sand for mostly beach, rock/gravel for barren area, etc.).

Here are a couple more from that level, one day and one dusk:

Will probably post up some dialog sound clips (when Kyle gets home from work and I can figure out where he's stored them...that's his and Jeff's part of the project also.
