Always waiting...

There are always updates on the horizon. With the horizon of the newest version of Torque Game Builder coming, I feel like I should wait before working on my game, but then again, I have nothing really to show of my work. Too much going on personally to get into the details of game development but I must move ahead and get things going!!!
My plan for a TGB game is a some-what simplified game idea. Castle defense meets Starcraft in a Megaman/Quake (it doesn't make sense, I know) universe. It has been done before, but I want to step it up a notch. My other idea is being held for XNA development. The only other idea I have is for an action RPG, but I haven't a clue where to begin.
Without artists, things always seem bleak.

my advice is the same...
never wait.. and use what you got... because if not.. you are stuck in a never ending waiting cycle .. where you just are waiting for something better to come out.. instead of doing what you want...
so.. start making games and you wont regret it ...
Cheers

My advice is also, oh, will, you know. Anyhow, let the project dictate the technology, not the technology dictate the project (Or is it the other way around, I think that's how I wanted to say it!).

That's a bit harder though, because then you have to really think critically about what it is you think you need. Personally, I'm always thinking "Oh my gosh, it's going to be so much better than this release, I'll just wait!" But in reality, i don't need the new features...

My advice is also the same, but to add one thing. Don't wait, unless you absolutely have/need to. If there is a feature, bug fix, something, coming that you absolutely NEED, then wait. If it's something you have the skill/desire to add yourself, then definitely don't wait. That's a bit harder though, because then you have to really think critically about what it is you think you need. My advice is to never wait for an update. Get stuck into it right away and you won't regret it.
