I am planning to do a silk screen shirt for Syreal Studios, the name under which I am making games.

How does this design look? I'd appreciate any thoughts or suggestions, especially on shirt color.

I like the slogan "Get real... then get Syreal!" ... though, I'm not sure I follow on the "Syreal" name ... does it mean something specific? It's a play on words with Surreal ... I got that much ...

as for the overall design ... it's fairly bold ... and, in general, leads me to believe that your developing adventure games ... the Sword in Hand icon just, to me, screams "RPG/Adventure Game Developer!!!!" ... and, if your going to have it silkscreened ... and a 'reasonable' price ... I would probably try to limit the number of small print areas ... cause they either a) won't come out or b) will wash out ... I've done some silk screening in the past and I've found that small surface areas don't hold very well, unless your paying top dollar ...

All in all, it looks good ... though, I'm not fond of Black on White shirts ... (not that yours will be, I understand it's a single color logo ... )

I'm glad I can always count on you for a good reply, David! :D

"Syreal" is as you said, nothing more than a play on "Surreal", but I also use it as my alias in many online games.

My dream is to create action RPG (or even Adventure) games. It's funny though, because I didn't think of the logo that way, because I pretty much just like to draw fantasy stuff, but now that you say it, it really fits!

I'm editing out a lot of the small little details in my final drawing, for the reasons you stated and also because cutting those small areas is really hard. I'm actually making the silkscreen pattern myself. (oh boy . . . !)

Best regards,
Kevin aka Syreal

As Kevin said, you will get major dot gain on silkscreen printing, so anyplace that you have small dots, make them smaller (they will spread) and anyplace that you have white-on-black, make the white broader than you'd expect (especially text) because the black will bleed in.

Looks good though, it is fun to have you own logowear.
