Banner Exchange Program
I love helping developers promote they're games...
It's great seeing a game get the promotion it deserves... I'd love to do it as a full time job! (cough GG cough) ;)

So as well as the free hosting and free PR/marketing services I offer, I've now also setup a free banner exchange program.

It's located at www.simplygamingpr.com/banner

You simply sign up, add your banner (I just have to check and authorise it)

* After signing up for an account, you are given some HTML code to paste into the pages you want banners to appear on
* For every 1 banners displayed on your site, you earn 1 credits
* Your accumulated credits are "spent" on displaying your banner on other sites - for every whole credit you earn, your banner is displayed on another members site once.
So help out a fellow indie and yourself at the same time and sign up today!

Our also given a referral link, so when ever someone click it and becomes a member of the site, you get 250 credits!

I'm also looking in to other ways of promoting games for free!

Content Pack
If you didn't notice my Forum Post
I'm working on a buildings and objects content pack.

Many of the buildings such as the bridges will come in blocks, making it easy for you to make it as long as you need to (rather than having to edit the size and exporting it again yourself)

In all it will contain about 60 buildings/objects... I'll release a full list soon.
The models will help you prototype all types of games.
Modern games
WW2 games (with the bunkers and the Pegasus Bridge etc)
Roman Games
and more!

I was going to do it as a "Buy and have access to updates" but I think it may cause problems with people wanting updates all the time.

I'll be looking at selling the pack for about $20

Is this something you would buy?

Is there anything you would like seen added to the pack?

All comments and suggestions welcome.

Thanks
Joseph

Quick question about your 'credit' system -- do you receive credits for signing up? I'm having trouble understanding how the system would work at first run with the credit system in place ...

I sign up, Joe signed up, Bill signs up ... we all have 0 credits -- so whose banner shows up on whose website ... ? :)

I'm guessing you've thought this through, I'm just curious ...

Sounds like a great system, reminds me of erm ... what was it called LinkExchange or something back in the day ... I think they're still around too ... but this seems like more targeted advertising ... great job, love the PR resource concept ...

Hi David
You start with around 0 credits, but it builds up pretty quick once you put the html code on your site and start getting banner views.

I might change the ratio to 1:2 (one show gets you 2 credits)

Thanks

@Joseph, I think you misunderstood, or I misstated -- if everyone starts out with 0 credit ... then what banner appears on what site ...

You said, when I show a banner, I get a credit which puts me on the next rotation or whatever I would pressume ... but if everyone starts with 0 credits ... whose banner gets displayed on the three sites until they get credit? :)

Sorry David.
I have a few banners on the system myself which have credits so they are shown (and some other users)

If you sign up, let me know your username and I'll add some credits to your account to get you started.

I'll buy the pack for the WWII stuff, I remember your Pegasus bridge from a while back. I've already made some of the buildings around it, like Cafe Gondree. More content packs is a good thing.

Joseph, just a thought about the content pack:
When is it better to get furnitures in a .dts format instead of .dif?

Pack seesm good.

@Willbkool, you mean the bridge on:

It will become part of the pack.. I just need to add more detail and change the textures :)

@Stephan: I would but I don't have a program like 3DSmax to make them.
I would also think it would take longer to make them that way.

Joseph, well eventually Milkshape, and why not using the map23ds program to export and UVpaint them?
The only interest is of course that one can then place object as wanted directly in TGE.

This is something I'm considering while making my own buildings.
As long as you are the designer -as we both are- it doesn't matter we can place items where we want during the creation phase. It will become a little bit less handy for the customer at the next stage.
This was just a thought, publicly expressed.

The Pegasus Bridge is looking very good. 8-)
