We have lift off. . .

Greetings all! As mentioned in recent past .plans, I've formed a company with my best friend. Originally, we were just two guys who wanted to work on our game, "The Mark." We formed the company because we thought it was more official, and would help with getting team members.

So much has happened in the past few weeks that Zombie Shortbus no longer exists solely for the development of "The Mark." Our company has been contracted to develop a second game for a team in Orlando, FL, whom I met at one of the TIG (Torque Interest Group) meetings. Our main purpose for this project is strictly development, leaving design, asset production, and publishing up to the team that contracted us. We've already started development on that game, and the producers were very pleased with the proof of concept shown to them on Saturday.

Due to the high level of confidence in my team, I informed the producers that their game will see a summer release. This is the last that you will hear from me on this project, as it is not Zombie Shortbus's design (hopefully they'll mention us (= ). They have not decided how they will publish the game yet, but I told them they should start blogging on GG, GGE, and putting up snapshots.

As for ZSB internal projects, we've hit a snag with our source control system....Oh irony is such a bitch. The system works great, but we are hosting on a rig that is not hooked up to a battery backup, and just can't support the bandwidth we'll need. I must stress that setting up your own source control is something you should learn how to do. Our decision to outsource our main svn to a company comes from three factors:
  • The need for more bandwidth[li]I can't control or change the server from my current location[li]We need three projects to be under source control
After reading over this post (and my recent ones), I realize I'm not giving away any information at all on the games that are in development. I really wish I could provide details, but I've been educated in the art of secrecy, taught to me by my last project lead at Full Sail.

The one thing I can guarantee is this: When we do provide details or screens on our projects, the release will come very, very soon after.

(I don't care if I've posted this pic already, I love zombies and this is awesome)

Well, I can't use the Torque tag for my studio account anymore. It only made sense to fall back to my last favorite gig: ZSB. If I go forward with developing and publishing my own work, it will be under the ZSB flag.

Love to see what you come up with... =)

That's an insanely fun name for a studio, so I gotta believe the games would be too!
