Hot off the Radio!

For those of you in the UK, specifically in the North West, if you listen to BBC Radio Manchester breakfast programming tommorow morning (from about 7am), you'll hear my dulcet tones talking about a project we just started called "Casual Games North West".

www.gamesindustry.biz/content_page.php?aid=22874

We're looking to help small developers (does that sound like indies?) startup and grow thier businesses, so if youre based in the northwest please please do get in touch.

Things have been going crazy since we first got the post on GamesIndustry.biz and I'm hoping we can keep up this buzz, as its really nice to hear about new developers and startups and we hope to get them all together and really get them moving.

Anyway, if youre in the zone tommorow, I'll speak at you soon!

Phil.

This sounds very promising for developers in the area.

Good luck on the radio!

This sounds cool Phil, I noticed the advert in the local paper the other day, so I contacted Rebecca today. Hope to get some feedback soon.

Great news - It's fantastic to see an educational institution, regional development agency and trade bodies getting together to organise and fund these initiatives.

We have something similar here in the North East with Codeworks / GameHorizon but there's very little focus on encouraging new and emerging development companies, and even less on collaboration with local universities. Fantastic to see this happening and hopefully this will encourage other areas to follow suit.
