Pimpin' GGE

02/09/2007 (9:09 pm) by Phillip Daigle

So I figured that it would be fun to see how popular The Great Games Experiment would be if I posted it to digg, as seen here:

http://digg.com/tech_news/Garage_Games_starts_Social_Networking_site

Unfortunately everyone in my office was either not present or too busy to 'Digg' it, and my efforts have been fruitless so far. Check the page often, however, as I will make it my mission this afternoon to at the very least make it reach the front page.

Bold claims, but I am bolder still!

Regards, Daigle

We kind of don't want it Dugg yet. Once it becomes totally open, then it would be cool to get it to the front page. Everybody Digg it on March 3, 2007!

I tried to submit a GarageGames news story to digg once. Unfortunately digg banned their URL, probably because there's too much awesome going on over here.

I was going to wait until GGE is completely open.

I think a headline like [i]Facebook for Game Developers Out of Beta[i/] would work better - don't mention MySpace in the description because no one on digg likes it. I think it'd be worth highlighting the ease of finding flash and indie games instead of what you did in the description. The stuff Jeff talked about at the not-IGC (like making a viable indie portal kinda site) would be better for a description too.

Sadly it's too late. Crushed by my own hubris!

I have to agree with Eastman. Saying GGE is a mix of MySpace is a big mistake on Digg. They hate it.. I mean REALLY hate that site.
