Pay me 1,000,000 dollars a year + benefits, give me a company credit card with no limit and all the pizza I can eat, and I will be your programmer.

English is probably not his first language, as for having dreams of just starting a company having people jump in and pumping out the games, it's not like he's the first one on here for that

I dunno if its spam or not... His profile is filled out and he's is from Israel, so I agree with J that maybe English isn't his first language.

My apologies, I've seen many similar fakes, and intended to join in on the fun as such.

I think it's sad that I didn't check his profile first. :PMy apologies, I've seen many similar fakes, and intended to join in on the fun as such.

Yeah....because Im sure programmers found around here are worth that much (myself included)....sounds as absurd as
Definately not the first one 'round here to say that, and I fell into that "I cant pay much or at all but want you to work on my stuff" way of thinking myself, but quickly set myself back on the proper path.
Anyway, are you a union worker Nool, I mean you demand all that stuff but dont say anything about earning that 1 mill a year and such...just being a programmer. (Im just giving you a hard time Nool, but I do mean what Im saying in general, just using your comment as an example).
Im perplexed as to why programmers seem to think that their skills are some amazing thing that they can charge out the yin-yang for. Speaking from experience I learned programming much faster and easier that I did (and still am) learning how to make art assets. I think that programming is like a lot of science, it doesnt really take much brains to do it, just the investment of time to learn the rules and processes that govern it (this comment coming from a person who loves science lol). The brains part comes into play when formulating new ideas or processes, which requires creativity and abstract thinking - the kind of thinking that makes ignorant naysayers and the supposedly intelligent (think professors and the "educated") say "you'll never be able to do that" or "that is absolutely imposible". Not much programming really requires this kind of stuff - you need an algorithm or chunk of code...you look it up on the internet and will probably find it or a description of the mathematical processes governing it. From there its basically akin to translating from one language to another - "this is what this thing is telling me, and this is how that thing wants to hear it", again governed by existing rules and documentation. I think thats one reason I like the field of AI and neural nets because its still a relatively "new" area and theres still lots to create that hasnt been done before, requiring one to use creativity and out of the box thinking. Plus theres still trillions to be made for companies that invest into this field.
So when Im looking for a programmer to contract out, Im looking for someone who can think, not just do. If I wanted someone to just do, I might as well do it myself.
@Chris and Surge:
I'll challenge you to go to a website where most of the users speak a language thats not widely spoken such as Hebrew, Greek, etc and write a blog entry that the users of that site can understand relatively easy...my guess is you wont be able to without some translator, so cut the guy some slack.
So, its time to click Post Comment and await the scorn and bawling from other programmers after they have read (but obviously not understood) my entry here, enjoy!

Also, as I said above, I had no knowledge that this person was of another native language. I merely commented in sarcastic nature to a seemingly fake/joke blog!
No need for the essay as written above. It was a joke, as we assumed this was a joke. Tada. End of story. Move on to a more important subject. The end.

@Nate: Did you seriously not realize that Ray's comment was in jest? That he was not serious? Also, as I said above, I had no knowledge that this person was of another native language. I merely commented in sarcastic nature to a seemingly fake/joke blog!

And about your apology, my post was written way before I actually was able to post it due to connection problems, so it got posted later than it was supposed to.

No, I knew Nool's comment was a joke, but Ive seen a number of programmers with that attitude who meant it.And about your apology, my post was written way before I actually was able to post it due to connection problems, so it got posted later than it was supposed to.
