Updates On The Community Magazine Idea, Me, and More

Hey Everybody,
Wow it's been a long, long time since I've posted one of these and I do aplogize. My day job took over for a while and left me without much time to do anything except what those who sign my paycheck asked of me.
If anyone remembers I had thought of creating and maintaing a community magazine for Torque. It was met with some good kind comments and excitement, however I dropped the ball and did not get to launch it like I wanted due to work. But things have calmed down now, so I'm going forward with the idea and this time I know I will be able to launch it. After talking with Eric Fritz in the Garage, I have been giving the blessing as he put it, to use Torque in the name of the magazine, so I think I'm going to go with (at least for right now) Torque Monthly. Short, simple, and to the point. I am open to other suggestions however.
The format I've mentioned in other plans will probably hold true still. Developer interviews, tool reviews, tutorials, articles, and the such. I'm working on the website now and hope to have the initial site up by the end of December. When will I launch the mag? Probably in spring, that way I have plenty of time to gather articles, reviews, and recruit more people. I will probably do both a monthly PDF format, and a RSS feed. I have no plans to charge for this magazine. I hope to cover costs by advertising and donations.
If anyone is interested in helping (for those who had wanted to help before I do apologize for literally dropping off the face of the Earth) please contact me. I of course need writers, reviewers, and even more editors. People with good graphic skills would be invaluable as well. If interested, please contact me at the email address in my profile.
Other things in my life have gone on as well, that has been taking up the little free time I have. I'm going to be a dad in March, so I've been putting together a nursery, going to doctor appointments, listening to family and inlaws say what to do and what not to do, etc etc. I've also managed to restart work on the RPG project I had to abandon due to time constraints. And I've been studying for my Zend Certified Engineer exam I'm taking next month.
I'll keep you guys updated on progress, and I promise that this will come to light finally!!!!

This is a great idea Chip, and I encourage others to help out in any way they can. I know Allyn Mcelrath said he was possibly willing to write with tutorials in my blog last week regarding the Gamer Newsletter and subsequent demand for the return of a Developer Newsletter. I think a community mag would be a much better venue for an extended look at the development process, mostly because I'd be spending all my waking hours writing newsletters otherwise.

I had the same idea but came out with Torque Magazine Monthly (T2M)... I can't say I can't help, I'm a prepress guy. Desktop publishing has been my religion
