Darkwind Chronicles

I would like to start this blog by thanking everyone who spent time visiting Darkwind Chronicles website.
This has been a major success - compared to my previous internet experiences - and I'm very happy. You made my days people! 8-)

I would like also thanks Sam Redfern to authorize me to take part in background development of Darkwind (check also development update here).

It appeared that Darkwind's universe could be transposed to the comic strip. Maybe this is because Darkwind is a turn based game; and thus action is interrupted and not permanent - this is precisely what a strip is: picture of an instant - neither to mention all the great physics being applied to the vehicles nor the damages and crash impacts that are very eye candy.

Darkwind's universe will expand further and certainly beyond hopes of Sam ;-) I've decided to have a weekly edition of the chronicles in a shorter form. It is called the Newspaper. You will probably guess why.
Players are encouraged to send me screenshots of their races with a small text, so we can keep the community very active.

Chronicles can be accessed through their main site: Darkwind Chronicles.

No blog without a picture: here is the very first issue of the newspaper:

Very nice Stephan!

It's great to have you involved. I'm confident that the depth and detail of the game will benefit...

To some of you that read the blog, you may have wondered why it was posted.
My intention was to demonstrate that side projects elements such as the Darkwind Chronicles can be important in the promotion of a game/concept. In the case of the Chronicles and Darkwind it goes even further as I'm fully involved in the development now.
Chronicles are not only a promotion media for Darkwind, they have become a part of Darkwind, a companion to detail and present both the game universe (history, geography, rules) and activity (races, some events). And also serves as a link to reinforce community. Reminder: it's still in open beta!

Anyway no blog without a picture! 8-)

@Arthur: the rescue team was of no help this time...
