So it's been a bit since I had a good game update. Things are moving very well for us. Here are few things we have done so far:
We settled on a company name and website
Seismic Games
www.seismicgames.com
We have developed a working demo of one of our 2d projects
and we have also hired and released our first developer.
This weekend we are setting up meetings to investigate what it takes to get published and funding to do so. Hopefully here soon we will either get the money to hire some talent to help finish out the projects we have and get the money really flowing.
I want to also take this time to give props to the developer I spoke of earlier. One thing I personally value most is trust and integrity. This one person found me by blogs and wanted to work with us on some projects. We decided to bring him on. It was a really great experience I told him in general what I was looking to have done and in about an hour he had a playable demo already made for me. Needless to say he really through us off the time scale. We got the game design document to him and then we started working on the comp plan. With out going into to much detail he was basically he said he would work for free for one week until I got this part done. Not a problem I thought. In the middle of the week though he ended up getting funding for one of his own projects. I thought to myself good for him bad for us!! But here is where the really cool part happens. He continued working on my project and keep trying to add new features to the current build as he knew I was headed out to meetings with potential people for funding. I was pretty surprised that he kept working on our project when he had money to go finish his personal dream. It was awesome that he kept his word and kept working the week even though he told me that he would have to be released from the team. Matthew "spindle" Harris is really reliable person and trust worthy which is extremely important if you are looking for talent that is not local. I wanted to take this chance to also thank him publicly as his work may lead to funding and the completion of my dream which I am very grateful for. Thanks Matthew Harris I appreciate your hard work and honesty. Also GG community look for some good things to come from Matthew's camp.
This also made me think the GG website should have some sort of Kudos system like ebay. When you deal with someone you add a good or bad comment to their profile. Well I need to get out of here to head to my day job. I will have some pics up of the game here soon after I get rid of some of Matthew developer art :P anyways see you guys around!
