More Illumina Progress

by Ian Roach · 11/02/2006 (1:16 am) · 2 comments

Following on from Yesterdays Plan ,Since ive had this week off ive managed to really hammer in some updates into illumina

The last few days it has been merging to torque 1.5. Today its adding in vehicles, and picking out the best of our interiors.

I have over 200 meg of interiors and buildings, so im narrowing it down to the best looking buildings. Ive decided my next demo release will be of the 2 starter maps found in torque 1.5, the winterland template and the desert template.

Here are some movies showing off all of the illumina vehicles ingame. The next step is to fully control them.

Also are 2 map flyover movies showing of some of the great interiors i plan on using for our demo maps.

Each movie is about 7 meg. Would love to get your opinions and feedback.

If any mappers want to join a fun project and help me out please let me know (iroach@westnet.com.au). No interior developing required, simply map design/placement. I have all the map assets i require.

Likewise any torque programmers, would love to hear from you :)

My next step is to add some basic ai ingame and try and hone the jetpack movement.

That arm movement every time a jump occurs was already driving me nuts when watching this video. I'd get rid of it before I did any more work on the game. Too much loss of vision and too much of a distraction - even for testing. Jumping should be a cool way to get around, not an annoyance. - Anyway, I like the buildings. They look very well done. On average, how many textures per building? - Any interesting bits to share about merging to 1.5? I will merge soon.

Hey dragon, just ignore that animation, its actually our melee attack, ive just got jetting and melee mapped to the same mouse button, which is why it happens every time i use the jets :)

it will be fixed sooner or later: )
