Blockland Halloween

So I've had the Torque engine for 5 years, made a couple games with it including two that are still fairly popular and I've never posted a blog. I'm gonna try to start doing this more often.

For those of you that don't know, Blockland is a multiplayer construction game that I've been developing on and off for a bout 2 years now. It's finally starting to come together and a lot of the features really lend themselves to machinima. So with the help of the beta testers, I put this halloween video together in about an hour:

The whole point of the game is to build stuff and screw around, so all of the sets were built in-game and all the characters are just regular people playing the game. I filmed it with an old version of fraps and cut it together in virtual dub.

That's pretty cool. What are the other games that you've built? I see you're from Poquoson. We're neighbors (NN) :) Do you know of any groups in the area or other folks that dabble, wade, or swim in game development stuff?

@Steve Flowers: I don't know of any local anything. But I can't say that I've looked.
My Torque Projects:
Tribes RPG mod: Not torque precisely but I did do some scripting an skinning for this mod.

Sons Of Valor - A sequel to tribes rpg I worked on with 2 other guys. Faded away / lost. Apparently the concept demo is still on fileplanet though.

Future War - Experimental multiplayer team thing. You drive jeeps, fly P51s, build bases out of junk and shoot stuff. Early TGE physics render it too unstable to play ScreenshotScreenshot2

Blockland

Age of Time - A persistant online action RPG.

Two Guns - Side scrolling shoot-em-up brawler prototype. Video

Sweet, we gonna be roommates! Looking forward to you coming out, you're doing awesome stuff. That video is killer, dig your humor. 2 guns was awesome at !igc, but I just couldn't get past the goofy mouse controls.
