New map nearly finished

My newest map is nearing completion... I'm holding off on adding the "eye candy" until I'm sure the terrain is perfect... which it's not quite there yet.

One recurring problem that's shown up in play testing is some of the ravines / canyons are too narrow and some corners are too tight.

I'm not sure if I want to solve it by adjusting the terrain or by adjusting the flight controls... one idea is to modify the terrain-following algorithm and have it look sideways as well as down and forward. There's not much I can do for a head-on collission, but a glancing blow could be avoided with a little extra thrust provided at the right time.

I'll probably end up doing a little of both... keep the narrow canyons for challenges, but remove some of the obviously difficult turns that consistently cause wall craters :P

Hmm, nope, as much as I want to like and be interested in this project, I just can't seem to get past the extreme arrogance displayed in your profile. I find it a huge turnoff.

On a side note... this looks a lot like that mod for Starsiege: TRIBES (the good one, I mean, the first one) - TRIBES: Racer was it? Something to that effect.

@Arthur - lol

@Evic - It might have the same look but it definately doesn't have the same feel. The game isn't a racing game. It has elements of racing in it because I'm focusing on the fun factor of fast low-level flight, but first and foremost it's a sci-fi shooter.
