IGDA and TIG - Orlando events for Torque users

For everyone who doesn't know me, I'm a bit of a Torque enthusiast. I've spent 7 years in the simulation industry working on training applications, collaborative environments, and simulators for the Army, NASA, Veteran's Affairs, and Homeland Security. Some of those applications were written using Torque.
I relocated to Orlando last May so I can afford a home, avoid traffic, and mingle with those in the simulation community. Most people only associate Orlando with a mouse, but it turns out that this city is the largest center for simulation in the world. The Army, Navy, and Marines all have major training divisions here; UCF has the Institute for Simulation and Training. I/ITSEC is the largest training/vis-sim conference and it is held in late November or Early December and is also in Orlando.
I wanted to update everyone in the Orlando area about two events. The first is an IGDA event that will take place on Thursday, Oct 26th at Fullsail University. I will be speaking to the members there about Torque and what it has to offer for the independent game developer. For more info, you can read about it on there website. The event is free. igdaorlando.org/
The next event, TIG Orlando (Torque Interest Group) will be November 9th at the Radisson on Alafaya trail and route 50. This event is $20 in advance and $25 at the door. All proceeds from these events will fund future TIGs.
TIG is focused on four groups. 1st is the new Torque user. We will introduce you to the engine and what solution you should use to get you started. 2nd is the advanced developer. We hope you bring your Torque game and display it at the showcase (similar to IGC) to help you network with other developers in the area with similar interests and skills. We also will provide a forum for Serious Games developers and those in Simulation to learn more about Torque as well as search for local talent. Lastly, there has been a lot of interest from those within the education industry.

I hope to see you at these events!

I was seriously hoping there would be no reason to go back into building 3C, but it looks like you've given me no choice =). I look forward to that event, and am still getting pumped about TIG on Nov. 9th.(still looking for demos during the event, send 'em if ya got 'em).
