(Don't hit backspace when not in this text field, got it.)
Hi Anyone Out There!
As a child of the 90s, video games has been a huge part of my life. I've tried programming my own since my first 20 goto 10. I have had some luck in the text only area of programming TI calculators. Everytime I try something fancy, I always give up. Patience and recreating the wheel are my biggest problems. I have known about game engines but never saw GG before.
I saw GG and bought it instantly. (Yesterday). Now I have a place to start that isn't creating my first triangle.
So, here is what I've done so far:
1. Completed the Beginner's Tutorial in the TDN
2. Messed around with the AI tutorial in the TDN
3. Made a little mission with the blue guys from the first tutorial.
4. Looked up object building in Blender
5. Designed my first thing in blender (without collision, that's tonight's headache).
6. Laughed at my designing skill (will definitly buy/ask for help for this later).
7. Imported my design over to torque succesfully!
This looks like a great community, I'm hoping I stick with it this time. I just have to fight the Warcraft urge.

Ps. I wonder how many other people's first posts are like mine.
PPs. Screenshots will start next time.

You have a great dev tool(s), which is a good % of the battle, so you should have less trouble sticking at it this time!

Yeah - I visit that page at least 10 times a day... There are usually 2-4 new blogs a day and a new image of the day every few days. It's a great way to learn about Torque and what's going on with it.
Check out TGB too - I started with my first triangle 5 years ago and I'm still amazed at how easy everything is in TGE - and it's even easier in TGB. It's very nice starting point if you get overwhelmed by TGE.
Have fun!
