A great reward ...

This past weekend we had some friends and family come by the house for a holiday get together. I took the opportunity of course to put some Xbox 360 controllers in the hands of a few of the kids to see how they liked Oust. They were video captured in a candid way which provided a great glimpse into their gameplay experience. I'd like to share a tiny clip and then explain one of the other ones I got which unfortunately was a lot longer and of inferior quality since I recorded it on my phone :(
This short clip though gets the point across, these kids are having fun with Oust!
Video
In the second clip, I was in the video for the first part explaining a few of the gameplay mechanics and the kids where a bit stiff. However, once I left the room they started having fun ousting one another and the clip contains plenty of laughter among some competitive talk and general horseplay ;) The best part of the second clip though has to be about 7 minutes and 30 seconds into it when the kids are called up for ice cream cake. The oldest one asks several times "does anyone want ice cream"? Meanwhile all of them are still glued to their Xbox 360 controllers and their respective monitors. Finally, the oldest and youngest start to fidget up. The oldest prompts them all to leave at the same time and he himself leaves first followed by the youngest. The middle child begins to leave with a mischievous look on his face, checks out the hallway to make sure the coast is clear and then grabs the older one's controller for a self-Oust! It'd make for a fantastic entry in America's Funniest Home Videos ;)
Anyway, the whole experience was one highlight of the weekend for sure. Nothing makes you feel better about the game you're working on than a group of kids having fun with it.

A Compaq Presario? I had one for my 3rd computer ever. Im on #5 right now.
It looks like they are really engrossed in the game. Good job, and nice array of computers.
PS:
Topless gaming ftw!

Notice in the picture from the blog it is obviously day time, and in the video it appears to be night. I would say they had a nice little 5 hour game session. Must be an addictive game, great job.*laughs*

Hehe, there are some Compaq's in there only they've been stripped of most of their stock components. The one highlighted is completelely rebuilt from the motherboard up by me. The other one I bought for about $350 and then got new RAM, a 500W power supply, and a GeForce 7800 GT OC card all on sale. At the end of the day it cost me about $700 for a computer that performed like an Alienware machine many times its price! I might put the other video up ... I'm pondering it ;) Thanks for checking this one out guys!

I just wana say be careful the monitor on top of that case might flip on the floor and you don't want that picture tube blowing up in the kid's face
