Relic Online

EkosoftCo is starting a new project called Relic Online. Its an mmorpg made from, of coarse, torque. We plan to make the game extremely flexibly compared to most mmorpgs, or mmo's even, and plan to make the environment very interactable. You can even make a kingdom here, buy your own boat. Players actually make the market and some control it. Your base classes open up more classes so you have alot of choices to what you want to do. Many jobs (tradeskills) are planned to be implemented as well. Check our temporary site (still in creation) reliconline.uni.cc

Sounds very ambitious. Unless you have a large development team, you may want to start a little bit smaller. Good luck

A few questions:

1. What is the game about?
2. Where/When does it take place?
3. What kind of people live there/then?
4. What kind of tradeskills are they? Building things? Growing things? Blowing things up?
5. When I purchase a kingdom, is it possible to remove the clothing from the NPCs and make all the houses bordellos? Standard RPGs are pretty lame about what you're allowed to do with your slaves.
6. Just how much control will I have over the meaningless lives of my filthy peasantry?
7. When I purchase a boat, will I be able to commision one that has a battering ram on the front, dozens of cannons, steel sheathing, and reinforced timbers for sinking boats that are bigger or better than mine?
8. Will I be able to 'conscript' a crew to row my blood-soaked death-ship in times of light wind?

As Jesse says - more info. When you make an announcement, you should put in some detail I think. Just a bit more :)

Your sites flash menu is not well programmed - I broke fairly quickly - and it's hard to read the sub-menus (It took me a few tries to realize that the main buttons were not clickable).
If you need some help with it, drop me a line as this is what I do for a living :)

Cheers!

The games story is still in development, but the main theme is that the players make the story. There will be a base story to start people out, but, like i said, still in dev.
The world is called Icaria. Thats about all we got out of that so far as well. The date start will be 0/0/0 because the base story is more history actually.
tradeskills, you can create (synth), build (ships, houses, and such), grow plants, raise pets.
When you purchase a kingdom, you can do pretty much anything. I think im even going to make it where you can grid your kingdom and place houses where you want (to an extent of coarse). You can have the right to be an idiot king and tax people, jail them, and such as well, because, you make the story (there will be restrictions to this of coarse as well). When placing houses, you can also select certain premade houses to drop (shops ect as well)
You cant necessarily completely control a player, but you can set the laws and use your kingdoms army (if you actually build one up) to enforce those laws.
Yes to all your questions about the boat except steel sheating
:)
im sorry, im really not good at info giving, im still making the site, that flash is screwed up and im working on a better looking one right now. I kind of do this alot, but, if i fail too much ill ask ya james so thanks! ;)
I want this game to appeal like never before, unlike some of those games where they say everything is interactive, you choose your fate, i want relic online to actually be able to do those things, as they say. Working on the site and models right now, so ill have some screenies here pretty soon hopefully.
Anymore questions feel free to ask,
