More Lightwave stuff.

Still working on some modeling, doing some character design stuff. I find this aspect pretty difficult without any clear character sketches / designs / and what not. I'm not so creative with that stuff, so i have to rely on others. Which usually ends up with me begging for character designs and not getting anything. Anyone out there do anime style character designs :) talk with me.

Anyhow. here's what i've got currently. its all designed by me.

It's currently a mix between UV textured surfaces and just colored surfaces right now. I've still got to decide how to texture the upper body.

Anyhow. that's enough out of me for now.

Looks great. The only thing I would change would be to remove the grey from the hair to make it more vibrant.

Rama, thats looking really good!

Hey if you want a character design, try this one. I painted it a good while back, but can't ever seem to get the time to model it. Or if you want to dig around, feel free to take a stab at any of the character concepts on my web page. They are all pretty dated at this point, but you may find something that works for you.

wow, that's nice art. I have next to no photoshop/paintshop talent. I heavily rely on preloaded "textures" and other paterns to get the job done :/

While the frog is great looking and all it'd have to be done as a monster or something :) can't really picture a talking animal as a character in this particular project. How'd you learn to "paint" so well?

Also, where's your website? i couldn't find a link in your profile.

Thanks, glad you like it!

Woops, forgot to include a link. Here ya go. www.shapesandlines.com

I learned (actually I have a LOT to still to learn) by brute force, as in learned by doing. That frog painting was my "learn how to digitally paint" project.

Well the *frog* is definately the most impressive i see of your work :)
You seem to have alot of comic related characters. I'm not familiar enough with the comic world to know which are original characters.

the "wrong"? not sure which one that is?

The colored comic pages are "color guides" from published books from back in the day. Check the black and white, or ...wait looking now...hmm not a lot of character concept stuff there right now. it sbeen agood while since I updated it.

What sore of characters are you interested in doing foryou project?

doh, i can't type or spell. I correct my mistake in the previous post.

Hmmmm. This project is a semi realtime, turnbased RPG....
Well the setting is fantasy. Sorta the typical settings for rpgs.
Games with a similar look i'm going for would be like Star ocean: Till the end of Time, The grandia series, Final Fantasy X-2, chrono cross, etc.

Anime styled games usually look very much different then anything based on real life. Usually they have inadequate protective clothing, useless accesories, over sized clothing. Basically whatever it takes to make them unique. Style is far more important then function in most cases.

I'm still working on fleshing out the story and deriving some new characters from it.
