Totally awesome Vinh, I was starting to really miss HO and POs in 0.1.

About the only problem I'm having with this is that the mp3 i use is not the exact same as the one the author of the .sng file used. The notes are off, temo slightly different, etc. Any suggestions? Thanks for this, and keep up the good work!

Hmmmm, I think I might need to look into getting a PS2->USB adapter... can't really test with a keyboard to see if the timing feels inline with the game.

I recommend going to get the Freetar Editor and opening your SNG and MP3 with it. Typically all you need to do is do a SELECT ALL and just move the notes to where your song starts. Once the first 10-20 notes are in sync it is pretty much good to go.

Such is the problem when you want to play non-downloadable content.

Wow this is awesome, I just realized I can arrange the keys on my tiny keyboard and play it like a GH controller!

Hmmm are all the stock songs supposed to be synced properly? The notes always eventually fall behind the music being played for me. Also, I don't know if it's the source .sng, but a song like Legendary Rock (Guitaroo Man) displays impossible notes, like chords where only one fret is a hold (and is unplayable) and sometimes I would play a single note of a chord instead of the whole thing.

Also you can't play a three fret or higher chord that uses both blue and orange frets. If you hold both blue and orange, then you can't hit any others, and if one and a blue or orange is held, then the unpressed blue or orange can't be held. Sorry for turning this into a bug report thread >.>'

That's because of your keyboard bindings.

Use the following bindings:

Right Arrow - green
Down Arrow - Red
Left Arrow - Yellow
Right Ctrl - Blue
Windows Context Menu Key - Orange
Left Shift - strum

Then hold the keyboard right side up facing away from you, grip it like a guitar and goto town.

Those bindings don't make much sense to me. I was playing it the other way with "1 2 3 4 5" bound to green thru orange and using the arrow up/down keys for up/down strums. And I don't see how that would affect the frets not combining properly.

Because keyboards only allow so many synchronous inputs on close sections of a keyboard. By using keys that modify, you can press all 5 at the same time including a strum.

i tried it using keyboard controls, and im pretty sure i must have hit at least 1 note, but i did an entire song without a single 'hit' but i can see the flashing light when i am pushing the keys. :S

but in principle its great, i just wish i could play or work out how to
