IGC right around the corner!

Wow, it's amazing but true ... it's been damn near a year since IGC last year ... astounding! I don't know about anyone else but I'm feeling a little pressure to make sure we bring some great stuff to the event and at this point there's still a ton of work to be done!
First of all I want to hit on Oust. Everytime I post a blog about VR or Mousetrap Arcade someone brings up Oust. Things have been moving along pretty well with Oust but I ended up working with a local artist on the project who knows Maya and animation but has little experience with game engines so it's been a bit slower moving that in could have been. I expect though that we'll have a better game this IGC than last if for no other reason than we'll have our own characters in the game with some of our own custom animations tailored to the gameplay. I think realistically we'll be looking at a 2007 release for the game. I know I've definitely taken my time with Oust but I just want to make sure this game is done right. The game will be there and it will be a blast!
Next up our plan is to bring our VR pods to IGC for people to experience. I'm hopeful that the GG crew will give us the go ahead for this but space is limited obviously so who knows what the arrangement for this will be. The one thing I do know is that what we've developed so far is hot and I just hope I've got the time to get this thing where I want before IGC.
Finally, I've got Mousetrap Arcade and some TGB games that I'll want to have on display. These are all simple fare but I'm working on one right now that I think people will really dig. With all the other projects I'm not sure I'll have time to finish it but considering how easy TGB is I don't think it's impossible to have another strong game running for the casual space before IGC.
Essentially, though we've got 3 months to get 3 projects looking good and I'm also extremely busy with flooring work so I'll be pushing it to the max in order to get to IGC on time with some killer stuff to play. Wish me luck!

At first I thought Oust was some girl's nickname. "First of all I want to hit on Oust." I thought, gosh this guy's got his priorities straight! Go man! :)Good luck! Wish I could go this year, but, alas......

If you haven't checked with Eric Fritz and/or Benjamin Bradley about space at IGC, now is the time to email or call them and start a conversation about the subject. IGC planning starts months ahead. :)
Hope it works out, the VR stuff sounds pretty cool!

I'm not sure I will have *anything* to show at IGC this year! which is kind of a surprise but kind of a relief too. ultimately, who cares if you show at IGC or not as long as you release an actual game or two in the end! plenty have shown, few have released...
good luck getting your projects ready - josh

yeah I needed a small task from an artist I work with done, and he said he was busy but could do it, and that the busy part was coming from "pre-IGC frenzy" work which he said apparently has started earlier this year than mostI'm not sure I will have *anything* to show at IGC this year! which is kind of a surprise but kind of a relief too. ultimately, who cares if you show at IGC or not as long as you release an actual game or two in the end! plenty have shown, few have released...
