Project One Down

by Doug Linley · 07/02/2006 (4:47 pm) · 4 comments

I just finished my first TGB project. The Whack-A-Mole modification is complete. By finished, that means I did everything I originally set out to do. There are other things I thought of on the way that I could have added, but I decided to stick completely to my original plan.

The purpose of this project was simply to learn more about TGB. I've learned a ton, but I know there is a ton more for me to learn. So I will be starting another small project, likely tonight, to improve my knowledge of TGB and to gain more experience in simply finishing things.

The install included is a non-licensee build, meaning no script code is available. Tomorrow I will be releasing the modified code and additional art as a resource. I will post in the private forums when it's available. This was a fun test bed and I hope you'll check it out. Feel free to let me know if you find any bugs.

The Game

The game plays like the original. There are five levels with the amount of holes growing with each level. Once level five is completed it will loop around again to level one. You can hit escape while a level is playing to exit, or you can wait until between levels and click the exit button.

Here are a couple of screenshots. The first one shows the added, subtle particle effect. The second shows the score board I added between levels.

I hope to learn from your code very soon. And what software did you use to make that gameplay video from your last blog entry?

I used Fraps to record it and Windows Movie Maker to compress the video.
