Trihex Software Finally Gets Going

06/26/2006 (9:35 pm) by Eric Armstrong

Hello all...

My name is Eric Armstrong, I've been a Torque owner for quite a while (2001) but this is my first plan here on GarageGames. I've mostly been working with Idryonis Studios, but things have kind of slowed down, so I have taken that opportunity to finally update my website and start some work on some of the many game designs I've had tucked away for awhile. Since I was starting to get going on personal development things, I figured I would also get started on becoming a more involved member of the GarageGames community. Something I've wanted to do for quite some time.

You can check out the new website at www.trihex.com. I'm keeping a developer blog on the site for the game I'm working on, By Mine Own Hand. You can check that out at www.trihex.com/blog. There is still quite a bit of updating to do on the website, so excuse some of the rough edges.

I'm using TGB for By Mine Own Hand, which is a gauntlet style action game with some heavy RPG elements. You control the actions of a hero as he slowly descends into madness and brings ruin to the lands he once pledged to protect. Hopefully the blog won't end up just being a chronicle of MY descent into madness.

I just wanted to say hello to everyone, and let you all know that you will start seeing some cool things coming from me in the future. Stay tuned to www.trihex.com/blog and here for the upcoming goodness.

About the author

I am a passionate programmer and am constantly striving to better myself in all aspects of code generation. I program professionally in the business world, developing enterprise web applications in Java using J2EE methods and objects. I am primarily a self-taught programmer and am fluent in C, C++, and Java. I have programmed on 6 different systems in twelve different languages and basically eat, sleep, and dream coding. I enjoy all aspects of software design and implementation. I constantly strive to better my code and myself. I enjoy game programming for the simple fact that there is no greater challenge, in my opinion, that a programmer can undertake. Games are truly the sole software that flexes every aspect of the personal computer. You can follow my development projects at www.trihex.com view profile »

Interesting story. The hero becoming an anti-hero. Good luck. Can't wait to see more.

@Travis
I'm currently hosting on godaddy. It was cheap... It's an ASP hosting account, and I'm much more a Java guy on the web side of things, but I figured it would give me a chance to play around and maybe learn some things.

@Luigi
Hey man... been a while since I heard anything from you. Glad to see you are still around. How's everything? Still in the Bay area or are you back in Italy?
