Football madness

Well, probably half the world is going insane right now watching the football.
Frankly I find the cynical use of it as a marketing opportunity kind of offensive. Its like christmas in that its become such a huge marketing opportunity, so everything and I mean *EVERYTHING* is now associated with football and/or the England team round here.
If thats not bad enough, there are the idiotic flags hanging from people's cars.
I'll be glad when this month is over.
Anyway, I wanted to take the opportunity to let off a little steam (literally, its HOT here right now).
We're on the last few days of work before starting summer vacation and things are generally looking to get quite interesting this summer. While I've got time, I'm going to do a lot of work on my games, getting Air Ace sorted out for showing at IGC. Getting Tiki Tennis sorted out for a showing at IGC, getting AI code finished off, getting some code I'd set up to write for tracking students in our labs done.
Basically there is a ton of stuff to write. Plus I need to buy myself a house. I just wish it were a tad cooler.
Oh, thats grat, now my ky has stoppd working. Ok, so now I'm going to hav to buy a nw kyboard.
Ah great. Well, no worries, stuff is certainly coming along. Just ned mor tim to writ it up for my blogs.
Damn.

The marketing fluff must not be working on me then, as I'm wearing an England shirt from last season :)

I was in Stockholm for the Euro2000, wild wacky stuff. American sports suck because it's just state vs. state. There isn't the necessary facism :)

Phil knock it off, the world cup means so much to so many people. I for one have been looking forwards to the word cup since the football season has ended. If only i had a game developed, that was mildly assosiated with football........................

On 70's there was a song that says (translated) "90.000.00 in action. Save the team".
Now we are 160.000.000 anxiously waiting for Tuesday 04:00pm.

@James: Here in Brasil we don't agree with this sentence: "so many" :)On 70's there was a song that says (translated) "90.000.00 in action. Save the team".

Ignore the marketting (or at least try) and enjoying watching the footy, after all it's not often we get footy on terrestrial now :( Of course if you don't like football, then think of all the shopping you can get done when the England matches are on :P

The world Cup can cost you as little or as much as you let it. Grab a beer, relax and savor the moment. England all the way baby!

At least its easy to go get some shopping in during a match.
I dont mind the games so much as the advertising. Luckily I can sky+ the matches and watch something decent the rest of the time.
