Adding animations to an object

It's just a rotating windmill
shouldnt need a cfg then
whats it doing/not doing?
Well, I first export the dts file, the the dsq file
I made a .cs file that references the dsq file
* Black has quit IRC (Quit: Quit)
dont need a dsq for it, dsq's are only needed if you want to share animations between multiple models with the same hierarchy, which basically means just players
When I loaded everything into the ShowTool, it just sat there
oh ok
create your animation, add your sequence helper, name it, set start and end keyframes, export dts, load in show tool, click play
I think I might know where it's failing. I don't remember seeing anything about a sequence helper
did you add an object that looks like a little wireframe box and gives you animation options?
heh, nope, I just made the animation and exported
if not, on the right sidebar, go to teh create tab, click the helpers button (looks like a little tape measure) then on the drop down select General Dts Objects
only option there is sequence, drag one out (size is irrelevant, and it doesnt need linked to anything)
let me know when you're at that point and I'll continue
That option isn't under the helpers, I wonder if I'm missing a plug-in
you did install the dts exporter, right?
yeah, for Max
hmm, should be there then
I need some help with the mouse for the helicopter, I would like to change the controls on the left and right to tilt side to side. Like you move the mouse forward and backward, the helicopter tilts forward and backwards. If you move the mouse left to right, the helicopter tilts side to side instead of turning left and right?
one sec, i'll send you a screen shot
hi Tek0 where you been?
oh dang it, I found it
-_-
sorry
np
brb
what should I be dragging it around?
ok
* Omroth has joined #garagegames
I just dragged it around the whole model
* C4C has joined #garagegames
d'oh you said size is irrel.
hello
back
drag it out, give it a name
you're just using a transform animation, so you can leave the settings on it alone in this case
Yeah, I just rotated it 360 degrees and that's it
with it selected, go to Graph Editors -> Track View - Curve Editor
on the left side, expand Object (Sequence II)
and select the Sequence Begin/End track
done
there is one strange thing in the commander map's (resource) zooming and I was wondering if some one in here could help?
then push a on your keyboard for add key, and on the right area, on the thick grey center horizontal line, click where the animation starts and stops for your windmill
frame numbers are along the bottom there
done
ok, close that window and export again, should be good to go now
I added the Sequence to the base tree, should I have left it alone?
sequences dont get linked to anything
ok
I dont know what would happen if they were, probalby nothing, but theres no need for it
ha! you rock
thanks again
yes, yes I do :)
:D
