I have Torque Game Builder. Woo!

(Hello, this is my first blog post here, although most of them are over at the Stick of Wrong Blog. I'll be duplicating any posts I do that are more interesting to here, but if you want to read the previous then read the blog itself...)

I'm really getting fed up with some aspects of my current job and I've found out they're doing some major changes (involving the changes of the entire bloody company), which may be a sign to get out whilst the going is... err... good.
Since I really want to get into Indie Game Dev-ing, I'm going to have to make something to sell. I've already looked at business accounts in some banks, and some back-of-an-envelope mathematics makes it seem plausible, but only on the condition that there are multiple games available (Multiple game releases act as a similar thing to spreading your bets. If one game sells poorly, another game could make up the remainder).

Cue the title. www.garagegames.com/products/torque/tgb/
Torque Game Builder (Or T2D as I prefer to call it) gives a much more simplified environment I can use to build games in. Mainly because I know hardly anything about 3D model creation, etc.

With T2D, I could theoretically make a game in a much shorter space of time, with more of an appeal towards casual gamers. Granted, it isn't Quake 4 or Fear, but it's a means to an end. (The end being away from my current employment and into self employment)

I have currently got to the end of the shooter tutorial, and I am amazed as to how fast you can create things on the system. To illustrate, I started the tutorial 2 hours ago, and so far player movement and shooting, opponent movement and shooting, and collision detection has been implemented, which is phenomenal in this short space of time. Granted, there's some sort of stuttering bug that I don't understand, but it's only a small worry.

I hope this thing goes well.

Good luck! T2D is amazing. I created a rather polished small game with it in just over 3 months. It's awesome!
