Roboherd Demo

Well we've finally got something together for the Roboherd demo - it's not quite as far along as we would have liked (some of the menu screens still need some work) but instead of delay another few weeks I decided to stick to the deadline we set ourselves and get something released.

You can find the installer at www.roboherd.com/downloads/Roboherd.exe - I just put it together with NSIS and I am pretty sure it works but if you have any issues then let me know (there could well be a few teething problems).

There are 10 levels in this release, we have about 25 done so far in total but are looking to get that number somewhere north of 50 I guess before we can go live. The webstats should be working (at www.roboherd.com) so you can set up a username and see your best times online - by default they will just get recorded under demouser.

As always any feedback appreciated - still looking for someone to help out on level building so if you're interested then let us know.

Looks interesting. Some sort of in-game tutorial would have been nice (or maybe that's already in your plans?).

One word....HARD...at first. Got used to it. It needs a little something else to immerse the player into it a bit more, but it's definitely a great concept!

Four words...Great interface and style!

While the gameplay definitely needs more polish, I love the gui/banners/stuff, and the graphics are simple yet effective.

Btw, what does level building entail? Is this a commercial game or free?

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

@Brandon - screenshots are coming, just trying to get everything in game up to a standard where it's ok to take pictures of it!
@Eric - have been thinking about a tutorial level to start off with (and have had that feedback before) but so far haven't done it. It's (almost) the next thing on the list.
@Raxx - The goal is to try and make this commercial - however there is still quite a long way to go. Level building is pretty straight forward as it uses the in game torque editor and .mis files. THe challlenge is more to come up with interesting ideas for levels that robos can be navigated around.

Wow. This is a pretty fun game and interesting idea. Good luck with this. It is a bit hard though.
