Here is the RPG Vault Interview Part II:

Here's a snippet about Torque:

Quote:
Jonric: What game engine did you decide to use for the project, and what are the key features related to it and your overall technology base?

Josh Ritter: We licensed the Torque game engine from Garage Games. There were many cosmetic and deeper reaching modifications made to it. Overall, the Torque engine was great to work with and proved itself many times over. Minions of Mirth is primarily written in the Python programming language. The game runs on Windows and OSX.

... and they left the http://www.garagegames.com link in :)

Quote:
Jonric: To what extent has modding taken hold, and how do people get information when they need it? And are there many player-run servers?

Josh Ritter: We have a great modding community. We also roll some modifications into the official version of the game. This is quite unique, and I feel it's a good system for improving the game as well as gratifying to the mod maker. We have a modding section on our forums and there are knowledgeable people answering questions. In addition, a wealth of modding information can also be found on Garage Games' site at http://www.garagegames.com

Prairie Games, Inc has one programmer... which would be myself. I do all the packaging, including patches, for both Windows and OSX. I also provide technical support on both platforms. I created and update the game's web site. I do the interviews and help with reviews. I run the forums. I administer all of the servers... including the master server, central character server, and all world servers.

We can't add another platform to support, patch, etc at this time. Especially one as needy as Linux, with all the distros and configurations...

JR,

Did not mean to offend, just was wondering if MoM was planned for Linux. Would be a great addition to the already solid linux of Linux games GG has.

Not offended at all... I just like to give reasons/clarifications in abundance... I have people questioning my decisions all day long...

This is more than a straight port, we have a lot of maintenance on the MMO side of things :)
