Davis Ray Sickmon, Jr's Blogs
After way too many years of silence, I've released a new game :-) However, this time it's something completely different than any project I've ever tackled before...

Well, The Story of Gamer Zone book is done, is in print, and is available for order. And with usual indie style, I did it all myself - the only time I'll do that ;-)

I've been a supporter of the Torque engine as a great starting place for indie wannabies, and for more serious developers. Heck, I still have to answer "Where do I get started with Game Development?" about twice a month on a slow month - and I haven't had anything to do with game development in quite a while. And my answer has always been the same - download a copy of the Torque engine. However, my answer might have just changed radically after what I just saw.

Gamer Zone hosts the World Cyber Games for Wichita, Kansas and surrounding areas... instead of our usual $1000 tournaments, players now get to compete for thier part of a $400,000 wad of cash and prizes! (And of course some of my usual .plan stuff in here too ;-)

A new "feature" - Game Design by Observation. Gamer Zone continues to move along just fine. It's interesting how a "simple" task can go completely insane on your sometimes - here's an example. Indie life continues at a fast pace, people on IRC really get on my nerves, and more in this edition of my "Oh my god can this guy write longer .plans?"novel in a .plan. (And the answer is no - there's a limit on the size of a .plan. I've reached it before ;-)

"A slow return to sanity", "Ever give away $1000? I have, twice now!", "Ever played games on a 420" screen?", "forget writing games for girls", "World Domination Through Collaboration outside of the Indie world", "Contract work", and more cool stuff in my triumphant return to writing .plan novels that you all have missed so much ;-)

My new baby: The 17" Powerbook, Gamer Zone continues chuggin' along, licensing new games, working with Digital Snow (Who's that) on Marble Attack (what's that), what ever happened to Trajectory Zone, and Midnight Ryder Technologies develops a new arm - real-world publishing for Indies (Umm... does that mean I'm no longer an Indie?!), and more stuff in the REALLY REALLY long .plan that proves I'm still alive!

The continuing story of Gamer Zone, my wife goes back to work?!, why one should never bother going to bed early, and Indie phone calls. Oh, and game development too ;-) All in this weeks spine-tingling .plan file!

Ah, life is good again. Pushing forward on the PR "job" I picked up, The household is now completely Indie, I got my money, and more in this issue of the Continuing Saga Of The Elusive Indie, part Umpteen!

A new resource submitted, playing with Eric Forhan's new content pack he's building, more Torque vehicle physics, "And Now For Something Completely Different", The Plan for Trajectory Zone changes without notice, I'll quit whining about resources now, and more of my usual stuff in this wonderful drivel called a .plan!

Feast or Famine - I'm getting a little fat, work wise. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City - it's not a gaming fix, it's a research project. Honestly. Trajectory Zone Beta 3 highs and woes. All in this short .plan file... (yeah right, it's just a little smaller than normal ;-)
