Hows it goin'.... Just messing with drawing symbols and pictures with the command console (using C++). I thought I might as well outline the symbols used to create the graphics so someone else could use them for a laugh if they wanted. At present I working on a retro adventure game using C++ and notepad. Just for practice and the sort. Retro is king! :)

Forget ticking all the right boxes to get my own cubicle of hell and depression (only a recent opinion of what I was working towards not the one I had previously). Jumping through the 'established' hoops just ain't worth it.

I have no problem using the languages and creating text-based versions of what I need, but using integrating the various apis available to use (or even just one of them) is something else... Completely different challenge. Also trying to build on my knowledge of algorithms and data structures. That's it so far. Thanks again for help and guidance. :) Take care.

I used to be worried if what I chose would still be in demand when ready but once you are an efficent/good programmer you will always be in demand. How to get good/become efficient? Practice, simple as. Thanks again, time to get to it....

It's funny how the possibilities of game development can stir the mind up and create a fuzzy path towards your way.... (6 years is a long time to be confused and going nowhere fast). Sitting in a room trying to stick to 3d, trying to design competently and then try hardcore programming. Going 90mph and getting nowhere.

Initially I turned up to this community in '06 a niave and ignorant artistic person. Bridges were burnt and mistakes were made mostly due to my inexperience and it provided a much needed education.
