While making progress with the new Torque X book update, I have a 2D game in production that desparately needs art help. My philosophy is always to build out game prototypes with very crude placeholder artwork. This way, I can focus on the gameplay rather than the glitz of attractive art. But now, I've reached that point where there's enough gameplay in place and I just need great artwork to add the visual polish.

For several months now, I've been recieving requests and queries about updating my last book, The Complete Guide to Torque X. That book was a great resource for learning how to create Torque X 2.0 2D and 3D games for Windows and XBox 360.

In the Torque X Forums, I've seen a few questions come up about creating 3D terrain. Since it's not an easy process, I thought an easily searhable posting here would help.

SpriteWorks is a utility that converts 3D models (DTS,X,FBX) into static or animated 2D sprite sheets. This is an ideal tool for any 2D game from RPG/RTS to arcade shooters - you can find free 3D models on TurboSquid and drop them into your 2D games very easily. SpriteWorks creates animated sprite sheets based on shape animation, axis rotation, or both.
