David Dougher's Blogs

A Happy Thanksgiving comes my way...

<Smiles> Not every blog I post has to be gloomy. The past couple weeks have seen a very pleasant holiday, and the release of our newest game, Chalk Walk, on our website. This game was the brainchild of one of our newest students and he really outdid himself. It's the story of a person who gets sucked into a magical moving chalkboard with his trusty skateboard. You have enchanted chalk and must create the ground beneath him before he gets to the edge - otherwise it's game over!

Making lemonade...

Well today is my birthday and I thought I would take a moment to reflect on a tough year. Around Memorial Day my wife was diagnosed with colon cancer. Our savings disappeared in a matter of hours for her initial care. From there the bills just piled up. Only a few weeks later, my best friend, a person I have known and respected for over 50 years died even as doctors were telling his family that he would be out any day and back to full strength by Christmas.

Calm before the Storm

Sometimes the news isn't good. But that doesn't mean you have to be negative. The Calm... The period just before Memorial Day was looking pretty good. Pariah Games had just completed its first new game since the reorganization, and work was proceeding nicely on our follow-ups. People were working hard, and pulling together.

New times, new directions

For the past several years my company, Pariah Games, has been engaged in managing the development of a MMORPG called Adellion. In January of this year that project moved on and I decided to take the company back to its roots, developing small to medium sized games.

Resurrecting an old idea

I don't normally have much time for putting up blogs in this space with my other duties in Adellion. We have a couple websites over there where I am expected to do postings and I don't like to repeat...

Plan for David Dougher

Team Progress Report. Progress is being made in a number of areas by the team but we all took a giant step backward to make sure we agreed on some key design issues in the last meeting.

Plan for David Dougher

Current plan is best summarized by the item agenda for the upcoming monthy review. It's a lot more than my stuff but it says where we are going pretty clearly.
