Torque Game Engine 1.4.0 is out! Get it now!www.garagegames.com/images/ul/2120.220x220_tge_productimage.jpg
Just in case you missed my last .plan about 1.4 being imminent, and about all the goodies that are in it...

Torque 1.4 is the most polished Torque release yet. There's a slick tutorial to get you started (make your first game in just an hour or so!), an integrated RSS feed reader (with source!) so we can let you know when updates come out, significantly enhanced editors... Unicode support, better localization tools, enhanced multithreading support, a vast number of code cleanups, hugely better Mac support (thanks Paul!), map2dif plus, new GUI controls, Integrated, crossplatform video playback via the Ogg Theora codec, better OpenAL support, and over 200 other improvements.

And it's up for download now on your account page, if you're a Torque licensee. :) Go get it!

Incidentally, the feature demo now comes with a neat little video called "Are You Popular?", encoded in Ogg Theora. It's based on a video from the Prelinger Archives, of the same name. Of course, our version has a Torque spin. :)

Linux builds of the installers & demos are coming soon, and many of the content and code packs are already updated to be 1.4 compatible. We're taking a little time off here at GG as Thanksgiving is this week, then it's back to work, getting everything upgraded and up to date.

Some of us will be doing post-launch tasks on 1.4 (preparing for subsequent releases, making sure everything is going smoothly), while others will move on to new projects. A few of us will do both. As for myself, I'm looking forward to getting back to TDN and TSE and giving them the love they sorely deserve.

And with that, I'm driving home for Thanksgiving. Delicious homecooked meals, here I come!

PS- Make cool games with this.

Any new Physics support added? I noticed that little is said about the type of physics that ships with torque. In the 1.4 demo it sows some rigid body physics and some physics from explosions. Are there any tutorials or resources i could see about this. thanks

I go away for 4 days and come back to news of 1.4 being released and Torque in NASA. I need to go away more often :]
