Plan for Rick Overman

Where did everything go?
We took the opportunity to make a lot of changes with this hardware/software site update. For those of you who make this site your second home I am sure it is going to feel a bit awkward for a while. Hang in there and make suggestions, (because I ignore whining). I have changed every single one of the 45,000 or so pages we host at GarageGames, I am human and I expect there will be a few things to fix.
Please report bugs and make suggestions on the website forums

- What's New in a nutshell:
- A new "skin" for GarageGames
- MyGarage now known as MyAccount/
- Dedicated Community / What's New Page
- Google Search for GarageGames here
- Dropped the right column from the site
- All side menus have been reworked and more intuitive
- Faster! We've profiled the PHP code and cached the rest.
- And hundreds more code changes....

Of course garage games has always been this way with the search. You could browse the code snippits seperately.

It would be nice if you could make the google search a little better at searching for Code snippits. Right now links and code snippits get grouped together and it can be a little frustrating when you just want to look to see if there is a solution to your problem.Of course garage games has always been this way with the search. I like the new cleaner look! Although I miss the "5 most recent" on the right side. Overall looks great and the search is awesome.Nick

Is there a recent threads section like on the right side of the old site? I liked the ability to see the 5 most recent threads. If you were to expand on that and give me 10, and also give me the ability to choose which ones show up there...Or am I missing something.

I was a really big fan of the search bar at the top, where you could easily search forums or ressources.
Now the search ressources can be accessed through the dropdown menu located in the Search forum section. The ressources section has you clicking browse, THEN search. Would it be a big problem to simply add Search ressources, just like in the forums section?
Overall though, I'm realllllllly happy with the site!

Love the speed, guys! Of course, like everyone, I'll have to use it for a few days to really know what I like/don't like. I was a really big fan of the search bar at the top, where you could easily search forums or ressources.

Re: "text kinda ends uncomfortably too close to the right side".
This looks like it's due to IE's lack of support for the CSS minwidth and maxwidth definitions. Here's an article on how to achieve this in IE: http://www.svendtofte.com/code/max_width_in_ie/
If you load GarageGames in Firefox you'll see how it's supposed to look.

Actually, the width thingummie looks exactly the same in Firefox. However, now i see that sidebar is actually groovy and stuff- my IE ignores all those mousovers and doesnt show those sexy yellow separation lines between sections. Firefox elitit snobs you :P

I thought I'd wandered onto the wrong site for a minute there -- or been redirected to someplace I didn't want to go. I'm glad to see that it's still GarageGames, just wearing a different suit.

1. Ya, I keep looking for a horizontal scroll bar...
2. The grey text is killing my eyes (literally straining). That has GOT to be changed... The rest I can deal with...
