Plan for Melv May

... continued from previous plan
I'm half-way through the 2D particle-engine for T2D. This is one of only two things that need implementing before I consider T2D complete. There'll obviously be continued development as we go on but with this final functionality complete you'll have everything needed to write very exotic 2D games.
Of the two, the tile-map support is the more complex and so I've decided to stop working on the particle-engine and move directly to implementing the tile-map stuff and then move back to finishing the particle-engine when that's complete. It's the more important of the two and in-case Sarah has the baby unexpectedly then hopefully I'll have the more important finished.
If you need any more information on what T2D is then please read my previous plans. I've tried to keep links forward/backwards so that you can follow them.
On the tile-map front, I spoke to Bil Simser about Mappy. It seems like the closest thing to a tile-map standard and the good thing is that the FMAP format is fairly well defined and can be used cross-platform. I need to develop a parsing/rendering system for these FMAP files quickly. I've already got some neat ideas for the rendering layer like dynamic fogging/scaling support etc.
Not sure how long it's going to take to implement this but I'm sure I'll have a better idea over the next few days as I eat through the chunked file-format for FMAPS.
Sorry, no pictures on this plan but there's plenty on my previous one (see above) !!
Cheers,
- Melv.
