UPDATE! Bunkers & Barricades WW2 Content Pack Released!
Hey Everyone!
So this wasn't really one of those planned pack projects, it just kind of came together out of stuff that I'd previously been working on (Code Name: Monster Island assets and such). And since I've had a couple folks express interest in this type of asset pack, I figured I'd consolidate it together and update it with some new models.
There are approximately 200 models (not counting 38 propaganda posters) which include a half a dozen small buildings, about a dozen pillboxes, a couple of aircraft revetments, ammo containers, bunkers, trench pieces, barracks, barbed wire barricades, beach barricades, broken cobble roads, fixed turrets, guard gates, guard tower, guard fences, office desks, radios, shelves, sandbags and sea mines. There are some crates, barrels and fences that are kind of a overflow from other packs, but I figured if you hadn't ended up with them from a previous pack, you'd have them now.
Once this is pretty much out of the way, I'll be re-visiting the Downtown District & Warehouse District, which I believe will eventually merge with a final 3.0 update for T3D. This pack has been primarily tested in T3D 1.0, but I'll give it a once over in T3D B3, just to make sure there is nothing too weird going on. Probably won't be releasing a demo level version, it's usually just confusing at my site when you go to get the download from your account anyway.
Here are a few new screenshots using the Bunkers & Barricades WW2 Content Pack models dropped into a T3D 1.0 Demo level. All the manmade models and cliffs are included, the skyboxes, terrain textures, rocks and vegetation aren't...but you all have either the Sticks & Twigs Pack or the Flower Power Pack anyway, right?:

Thanks for checking the plan out. I'll have more info up probably late Sunday Night about the Pack on www.monsterpacks.com. I'm thinking 33% off for the first couple of weeks so keep an eye out for the promo!

Lokin great alan, very nice models!

To answer your question. Yes...with a caveat, not all of the models have collision meshes. Other than that, they're all .dts based and should load fine. (I'll test some out tomorrow and confirm it).
On the simpler models the edition of a collision mesh would be a pretty easy modification, but on the buildings and such (since they have interiors) would involve a bit more "additions" to handle the collisions in TGE.
Any of the models with the barbed wire, btw, definitely include collision meshes (the fences, guard gates, barbed wire barricades, etc.)

I'll be putting together a comprehensive model preview later this evening for the packs www.monsterpacks.com product page.
I'll also probably drop a couple of the models in a zip for another little sample pack like with the AE: Cambodia Pack. I might even do a fancy java scroll through of images of the included models onto the site if I'm feeling particularly wild! =P
Oh, and I realized that I hadn't mentioned that at 33% off it will be $19.50 for the first couple of weeks. (Regularly $29.95)

Edit: just noticed you use Plimus
When people buy packs, can they download them as much as they like?
Last time I used plimus to buy models, I could only download once.

Yes you can, the way we've set up our site and sales.
Basically you create an account on www.monsterpacks.com - (login & password of 5 alpha/numeric characters or more) - You go ahead and select what you want and checkout (unfortunately we don't have a cart, so it's one product at a time). Plimus handles the transaction and then you're issued an activation code by email. Then you log in to your account, activate the product and then you can download it as many times as you like, whenever you'd like.
When there are updates, they are automatically loaded into your "My Downloads" section under your account. Similar to TorquePowered but on a much smaller scale.

this looks awesome, good job!

Just one thing, the beach turret looks like a rock with a cannon. The one in the photo looks more mechanical. Maybe its just the texture.
Other than that... really good job!
<edit>
Its not just the texture, the model has rounded edges while the cannon in the photo has angled edges.

As I looked at it a bit more, I noticed that it dipped in on mine along the front outer edge that was straighter on the real turret.
So with one of the other variations of the textures that are included on the original mesh:

First Modification:

Second Modification:

Still some liberties with it, but probably a bit closer. The specular helps also to define the edges a little better. None of the original images above are material mapped, so that could affect how things look a little too.
Thanks!

Yeah, it actually is partly the texture and partly the model. The wireframe is pretty angular (top and bottom just a bit of a softened edge):

Everything still looks on schedule for getting the pack complete, zipped up and unploaded later this evening! Yeah!
09/27/2010 (9:31 pm)
So here is a basic index (animated "floating" versions of the crates, barrels are not in the index, along with some editional texture variations among the other models - along with the propaganda posters. BTW, the posters are from U.S., British, Russian, Italian and German WW2 posters and they *should* be safe for the regulations in certain countries regarding WW2 German symbols):

Since I'm having an application error when I tried to update the main blog...I figured I'd post it here. Everything seems to be good to go, I experimented on Daniel with one of my usual release copy and paste errors, but it's all gold now, baby!

Would it be compatible with plain old TGE?
