Another few months, another plan.
I thought I'd post a little bit on my latest little project. As you might know, I've been working on a snowboard content pack for a while... the physics keep messing me up. Perhaps I haven't spent enough time on the slopes. :) So I've moved on for the moment...
In other news, I've been participating in the Purdue Game Development Club (pgdc.purdue.org/). Though the EA campus representative has been taking advantage of them a little bit :), I've been trying to help them along (indie power!). Latest thing happening there is a game development contest that ends in February. So I decided to write a little squad, turn-based strategy game for the competition. I've put in about two days so far, and gotten...

The orc is an AI player that you can control by moving the arrow. I'm planning on using AI players for the combatants, and providing a nice interface on the client side. I've got the hardest bits done - the custom grid object, the marker, and getting gamepads working so it can be enjoyed "properly". From here on out, it's just writing some script...
I'm planning on having a battle royale between the Orc, the Elf, and the Torque guy for the end of the contest. And after that, I might try to polish this up as a content pack. We'll see. :)
Arrow provided by the almighty Robert - Robert, you rock! Communities are awesome!

@Craig: Yeah, that's another project of mine... the physics haven't been very co-operative, though, and feel is everything, so I haven't made very much progress. This has gone dramatically faster, so I'm going to run with it a bit.
