Potential Job change = more money & more Torque time :)
Well I may be changing jobs within the company I work for. Will probably be either the end of the month or mid June.
What does this mean? Well it means more money. Enough that I can quit my second job and still be making more than I am currently. That also means I can really dig into the Torque projects I am working on and planning.
As far as getting anything done as far as Torque is concerned. The past 8 months have been very unproductive due to the second job. I have recently moved much of my stuff to Torque 1_2_2 and it has been pretty seamless. I still have to throw some scripting I did on older versions into the new version but I don't expect much trouble. The basics are in now. I'm excited to get really going on some stuff.
Today I bought an USB External HD enclosure to put an old HD to use. I have recently had a bad feeling about losing my data. I have a backup on CD but I decided I also wanted a HD backup. I have really struggled to get what I have done, done and I want my work to be safe. I'm still going to do CD backups but I will do the HD backups more often. I already feel much better.
I have the next 2 days off.
To Do from now til the list is done:
1: Investigate report of old resource I created no longer works.
2: Go through all the crap piled on my desk.
3: Implement test content for any resources I have used.
4: Add the resources I have written down in my notepad.
5: Create some content
a: Start on modeling new player and vehicle models
b: tweak turret model I created and texture it.
c: replace weapon place holders with final content(hopefully)
6: Build new PC (few months) and use current one as a server to test on.

Some people actually keep ALL their documents, images, and files in a version control system. I have my repo on a server about a hundred miles from me, that's backed up regularly - hosted on a friend's DSL line. It works great.
