Off to IGC I go!
Greetings!

In a few short hours I'll be off to my first IGC. I'm really looking forward to it, meeting the GG crew and those around the site. I'll be bringing along my Looking Glass software for people to see. It sounds like it'll even be used during some of the art sessions.

And speaking of Looking Glass, I've update my Gnometech site with some new information and screen shots. You'll want to head here: www.gnometech.com/lookingglassmain.shtml.

Here's a peak at what's new:

This image shows off the addition of the Synapse Gaming Lighting Pack using an overexposed light. The Lighting Pack may be toggled on or off and gives you a good sense of how your object will look in game with the Lighting Pack installed. And if you don't own the Lighting Pack, now you can see how good your objects will look once you pick it up! :o)

The above image also shows the first in a series of shape properties. The Rendering tab simulates how the TGE will draw your object by showing you the order in which the meshes are accessed. Having trouble with transparent meshes? Perhaps you have them drawing at the wrong step? That's what you'll be able to find out here.

The other two tabs allow you to see the entire structure of your exported DTS object to make sure the hierarchy is correct. The Tree tab gives this to you in a tree format, while the TSDump tab makes use of the TGE tsDump() function to provide a text version. This may also be saved out so you may send it to someone to check out your object's structure.

There's a whole bunch of other stuff that's been added in since my last .plan, such as orthographic views and user definable presets. If you're interested, look me up at the IGC!

And here's a preview of what you may also see there:

:o)

Wow Dave, looks like you have done some great work :)

Dave, thanks for putting this together. This will be a vast improvement over the current show tool. I've been working with Torque since Tribes 1 and have always wanted a quick texture reload...And the multiple environment map feature is awesome! You've thought of things I hadn't thought possible! I've already seen this on Joe's machine and wanted it myself. I'll have to grovel to get on the beta list when I see you at IGC.

This will do wonders for the torque art pipeline! I hope all the GG guys are singing your praises!

Excellent work!

As always Dave this is very very cool stuff. I cannot wait to demo some of this off at my sessions that I am presenting at.

BTW it was cool to meet you in person yesteday at the pre-IGC headquarter (aka the GG/BT offices).

Totally wonderful...I must have one. Can't make it there, but I'll certainly be obtaining a license or copy where ever distributed. Rex sighs....ahhhhhhh....to be able to see more of my shapes after export, Thanks!!! Is this a separate program or a Resource to add? I'll surf to GnomeTech before I ask more...bye
