The video speaks for itself. Just watch:

Moral of the story?

There are lots of days when working at GG doesn't feel like "work." Have a great weekend everyone!

Big thanks to Green Ear for our new ping pong table too! It's going to get some heavy use tonight =)

P.S. Don't forget to check the InstantAction Blog for announcements too. This one in particular made me smile.

I <3 Cardboard Fortress

Michael Perry   (Oct 03, 2008 at 23:30 GMT)
Sooooooo awesome! Even the video doesn't fully do justice to The Fortress. If you saw it in person, you'd be even more amazed.

Matt Fairfax   (Oct 03, 2008 at 23:35 GMT)
It was a perfect confluence of having a big pile of cardboard, an unguarded desk, and no manager on-hand to tell us to get back to work =)

This was one of the funnest projects I've worked on at GG. Possibly even better than our Josh Adventure game in-a-day project. But, hey when you work in a Garage with a bunch of super fun and uber talented people, you have to constantly think of new ways to say we <3 you, too Deborah.

Man, I wish I worked at a place that fun!!!
Gratz on the Epic Castle.

Pst... You should get some Nerf Cannons for it.

Stefan *Shaderman* Greven   (Oct 04, 2008 at 05:45 GMT)

Ian Roach   (Oct 04, 2008 at 07:26 GMT)

Konrad Kiss   (Oct 04, 2008 at 07:50 GMT)
You guys just defined what's Indie. :))) So cool. Was that Zelda playing in the background?

Geom   (Oct 04, 2008 at 09:20 GMT)

Classic! With that kinda engineering I know the development tech is in very safe and imaginative hands! Only problem is how will you guys know whether Deborah's playing on Instant action or actually getting any work done while within that private fortress! :D

Andy Hawkins   (Oct 04, 2008 at 16:13 GMT)
Oh! Now the idea has stuck. We gotta totally do that to someone at work here - soon! Especially with all the colds people are getting lately - perfect opportunity!!! I'm thinking something along the lines of a cardboard TARDIS :)

Michael Perry   (Oct 04, 2008 at 17:56 GMT)
@Konrad - That was the Legend of Zelda theme song. I had it blasting from the Mac on my desk. It made sense, considering her new triforce jacket, love of the game, and returning to a castle.

Jeremy Alessi   (Oct 04, 2008 at 19:38 GMT)
Classic ...

Trenton Shaffer   (Oct 05, 2008 at 06:06 GMT)
Well played!

Dave Calabrese   (Oct 05, 2008 at 07:09 GMT)
Packing Material + GarageGames = CONQUEST!!

Andrew Hull   (Oct 06, 2008 at 17:09 GMT)
I want to work there... right now. There is just too much sheer awesomeness emanating from one place NOT to want to be at the center of it all.

Keep up the good work... er, play, people.

David Montgomery-Blake   (Oct 07, 2008 at 14:25 GMT)
Absolutely awesome!

Eyal Erez   (Oct 08, 2008 at 21:36 GMT)
Way better than my office. I don't have any windows.

Billy Garretsen   (Oct 09, 2008 at 10:22 GMT)
Ha, Deborah's reaction is priceless!

Szzg007   (Oct 10, 2008 at 09:03 GMT)

I think I might have to apply for Garage Games now. o_o Sheer awesomeness is definately over 9000, as demonstrated in this video alone.

Matt Fairfax   (Oct 11, 2008 at 18:39 GMT)
The mushroom finally wore off =P

Charles Speer   (Oct 17, 2008 at 14:49 GMT)

This is the funniest thing ever. If we would have known you were so crafty we would have just sent the cardboard! I like to watch it over and over...haha it just makes me smile. Plus Deborah has the cutest laugh.
