Blog post
Hi all, after quite a bit of talk with the people working on games at Faintmedia we have decided to work on a racing game called Veloce Racing. The game will be made with TGE and we are going for a realistic racing game, and maybe in a sequel we would move to tgea for better graphics (or Torque 2 if it is out when we decided to make a sequel) but that's just a side thing. So far we have began to make the vehicles and are working on making maps. I hope to have this game multiplayer, I think that would be a nice addition to it.

I have only ran into a few problems so far, one is that when I am making an oval track it is difficult to create a nice curve at the either end of the track because they seem to turn out choppy and when I put it in torque to test it when I get to the curve it crashes the game.

There is only one car done being modeled, it still needs to be textured but we just wanted to make sure that it worked in the game engine, here is a screenshot of it:

Well that’s all for now, I hope to get that car textured and a map done soon (and hopefully solve the curve issue).

Car looks a bit like a 350z to me. I'd like to see some screenshots from the game when you get it going. What is your pipeline for getting the track into Torque?

I use the torque constructor to make the maps. Oh and the car is a porsche I found on the internet with blue prints, not sure what model.

very cool. i'm using Ligtwave to get tracks into TGE, but haven't done anything very elaborate yet, still testing really.
