Greetings from the land of TFW Mecha :) Alot has happened in the past 2 months (good and not so good) and I feel like I and Task Force Warrior have dropped below the radar so to speak. Here's the sitrep in a nutshell.
In the last two months I have A: worked ALOT of overtime with my previous employer, moved on to a new job, and am now putting in a good amount of OT for them. Although my free Dev time has been greatly reduced lately I still pack in quality TFW time on a daily basis. Things are moving along just fine.
B: The machine I had been using as a development machine had a hard drive failure and I lost quite a bit of stuff. :( On the bright side all models and textures had been backed up on another drive and were saved. My code such as it was has been lost though. This is not as bad as it sounds though as most of my code I would lump into the "hack" catagory. I now have the opportunity to go back and do things correctly this time.
C: I have very recently (yesterday) purchased what will be a bare-bones dev machine for TFW. Nothing too fancy, P4 2Gig(512) W.GForce 4(128). Now maybe I wont run out of memory when I'm making a 600x800 splash screen, hehe.
D: The TFW web site hasnt been updated for a bit due to the fact that my trial version FTP program has expired. Next month I'll purchase it but this months $ has gone to the Dev machine. Dont worry though lots of TFW goodness has been happening despite of the recent setbacks.
E: Alot of time will be spent this month securing the new machine and getting the development environment set up like it should be TGE, WC, VC++, MS3D, WinCVS, etc etc.
F: All in all things havnt turned out too badly considering the crash :). If you havnt seen the site lately swing on by TaskForceWarrior
