Just wanted to introduce myself in more detail so that evryone here might know who I am and what I'm about.

My name is Michael Welch, 24, and I am currently a student at ITT Technical Institute in Louisville, KY. I am pursuing a Bachelors in Digital Entertainment and Game Design. I am married and I have two children, Ash, my boy is 4 going on 5, and Allie, my girl just turned 3.

Now that the introduction is out of the way...
I have been sitting on me recently purchased TGE for a while now, fooling around with it here and there, and decided that it was time to start getting serious about developing a game. I don't want to create anything outlandishly complicated, just something to test my meddle. I have been developing the documentation for the last couple of weeks and think that I have enough to get started developing the art assets in parallel with the docs.

I want to create a game from one of my all time favorite genres, the Action/Platformer. I have always been fascinated by the simplicity and re-playability of these types of games. I never grow tired of playing games like Mario, Mega Man, Crash Bandicoot, Tak, Jak & Daxter, etc. I hope that with my game, I can capture the essence and fun of these games, and throw in all the elements of a unique and creative world that I create.

Wish me luck and keep checking back for updates!

Thanks for looking,

Mike

Ah Yes, the Action/Platformer. Its nice to hear someone is making something that is not a mmorpg or a fps. Good luck!

Super Mario Bros 2, the one where you could choose from all the different characters, was the most underrated mario game of all time. It was always my favorite. Good luck with you action/platformer. Are you starting off with TGB then?

Good wishes with the project Michael, you can't beat a good platformer! ;0)

Super Mario Bros 2 Wasn't a real mario brothers game. It was another game altogether. But when Super Mario 2(Super Mario Bros, The Lost Levels) came out in japan, it wasn't different enough from the first..

Nintendo of american decided to buy the rights to another game and add their own pixel art as needed to make it sorta like a mario brothers game.

Personally, i didn't like it. I perfer Super Mario 3 and Super Mario World. :p

I didn't really like 2 either, it was quite a departure from the first!

Thanks for the wishes of luck. I can only hope this works out for me. I have to agree that Super Mario Bros. 2 was the worst one of the bunch. As a game, it had it's high points and low points, but as a mario game it had to be the worst.

Thanks Again
