Since it didn't seem like TorqueX would be finished soon, I decided to get TGB and the latest torque engine. Atleast I could learn a lot about how the engine works even tho TorqueX is a major rewrite. And how true it was. By working my way through the examples for the TGB I started to understand how it all fit together. Once I finished the Fish Game Demo in TGB, I decided to try to convert it.

I have to admit that I couldnt for the life of me figure out how TorqueX Game Builder worked. Looking at the samples didnt help much. I know, I know, it's still in Beta. :-) Once I saw how the TGB and the scripts worked together, I started seeing it all a lot clearer.

In case someone else might find this useful, I've put the source files on fileshack. I forgot the include the solution file, but whoever wanna take a peak will be able to create one themselves. The code is not 100% stellar, but given that it was written inbetween watching the kids, doing chores, etc.

Hopefully the TXGB will have all the bells and whistles as TGB when it's done.

Source can be found here.

Happy coding folks!

Gah.. dont' say "source files".. in an engine coversion plan.

You mean game files. Source would imply the Torque X source code.

Just your friendly IP bot at your service. :)

Well, to me the source means the source for the game, not the TorqueX engine. I personally couldnt care less for the source for TorqueX. I wanna write games not dink around with engine code. :-) I'm personally done with that phase of my life, and figured if I want something that will at some point be done, I'd buy an engine. :-)

But to avoid further confusion : SOURCE refers to the SOURCE files used to make the Torque Fish Game from the TGB demo. NOT THE TORQUEX SOURCE!

I'm with Ola. Source is source, be it engine source, or not.

b.t.w. the link is broken.
