In the not too distant future, I will be vastly improving the fluid rendering in Torque. Not only that, but I'll be getting college credit doing so! :D
Basically, I'm doing an independent study in advanced fluid surface rendering techniques, specifically environment (and reflection if time allows) mapping, dot3 bump mapping, and pixel shading. The effect I'd like to get can be seen in the 3DMark 2001SE demo of "advanced pixel shaders" (the one with the fish in the lake).
I've already had experience with environment mapping and dot3 bump mapping, so those two shouldn't be too difficult to implement. Besides, I'm pretty sure environment mapping is already implemented. The problem is going to be pixel shading, and specifically, getting resources to learn from. So, if anyone knows of something that may help, let me know.
I just hope I can live up to Melv...
