Blog post
I've been working for a college for the last year and a half to make games for them and a few months ago we actually got approved to do something (educational system is so much worse then the real industry when it comes to getting approved or anything) But anyways, this project has taken us a little under a two months (one month for all the stuff for Greece , ill post pictures of Egypt later if anyone cares)

I also was required to design a database system to handle all of the npc questions dialog and much more including exact information on what the user has been doing while logged in.

But here is the fruits of almost a month and we have two days to finish what is not finished. its not so much a game as simple interaction and please excuse the little map error we have right now(and the map is from Egypt still)

Walking down the road
Standing near the pathiron..or however that thing is spelled
Talking to a still naked NPC

Also another thing ill be doing a blog about soon is our clothing system all the npcs+player have a dynamic clothing system(there all interchangeable like in an mmo or a rpg where the player actually can change clothing and it works for all races/genders)

All the static meshes+people where made by Eric Stowers.
Buildings where made by me and Jacob Crane.

all programming was done by me. (excluding the web/mac port which was done by Ed Zavada)

Looks intriguing. So is it going to be an educational immersive adventure of some sort? With a dash of political drama perhaps?

I wish, they are scared of anything even midly that cool, all you do is walk around and collect information and answer questions. we had to talk them into letting us even have people say stuff that wasnt directly related to the questions....up hill battle at all ends.

Nice grass texture, and the flagstone path looks good too. They might look better with a higher res though.

Geom - cant make them higher, torque has a rather low limit, id sure like to make them higher rez but the built in limit is 256x256 if you know how to make it better please let me know( dont say change the squareSize, its already 2 and i need atleast that much space)

Oh man, I made educational Flash games for a few summers and went through some of that.

"I don't know, that question popped up pretty fast. Maybe you should make everything slower so it doesn't scare the kids."

"dont you think dialog that doesnt talk about the questions directly will be confusing, why are they asking about there family, there is no question about that person?"

Geom   (Nov 14, 2007 at 07:31 GMT)
Paul, I thought there was a way to do that, but I could be wrong. I still work with Torque 1.3 so I'm not too sure what the latest TGE can do ~
